Zimmertoren.

The Zimmer tower, or Zimmertoren in Dutch, is a tower in the charming city Lier. The exact date of construction is unknown, but it was built before 1425. It was called Cornelius tower back then and was a keep of the city's fortifications.

After WWI, the city was planning on demolish the tower, but in 1928, Louis Zimmer, who was both astronomer and clockmaker, presented the Jubilee Clock he had built to the city. It was decided that the clock was to be placed in the old tower. The tower was reconstructed and now the clock is displayed on the front of it. which had to be substantially reconstructed for this and the tower was renamed the Zimmer tower in honour of Luis Zimmer.
